Call for Papers

Call for Papers

The Bernoulli-IMS 11th World Congress in Probability and Statistics will be held from 12 to 16 August 2024 on the campus of Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. The World Congress will be the major international conference in the area of Probability and Statistics in 2024, where scientists from around the globe will gather to exchange ideas and to present the results of their most recent research.

In addition to the invited part of the scientific program, the World Congress will offer ample opportunity for the participants to present the results of their research work. At this point, we invite researchers to submit abstracts for contributed talks, posters, and organized contributed paper sessions.

Contributed Talks:

The contributed talks will be presented in parallel sessions of 4 talks each, with 20 minutes per talk, followed by 5 minutes discussion time.

Posters:

Posters will be on display for the entire duration of the conference. We will allocate special time slots as poster sessions, when the authors are expected to be present at their posters. Authors of posters are encouraged to prepare a short teaser video (3 minute maximum) on the contents of their poster. These videos will be available on the conference website.

Organized Contributed Paper Sessions:

Researchers are encouraged to submit proposals for organized contributed paper sessions, devoted to a topic of strong current research interest. Organized contributed paper sessions will have four talks of 20 minutes, followed by a 5 minute discussion. Proposals should contain the names of the 4 speakers together with a short abstract outlining the topic of the session. Before submission of the proposal, the potential speakers should be contacted, and they should have agreed to present a talk in the proposed session.

  • Proposals for organized contributed paper sessions: 31 January 2024
    (Decision latest 10 February 2024)

Guidelines for Submissions:

  • All abstracts and proposals must be submitted in English.
  • Authors are responsible for the literary standard of submitted abstracts.
  • It is the author’s responsibility to submit a correct abstract; any errors in spelling, grammar, or scientific fact will be published as typed by the author. Submitted abstracts can be re-opened for revision at any time before the deadline.
  • The character encoding should be in UTF-8.
  • The abstracts can be entered into the system via copy & paste.
  • The abstracts may include LaTeX commands. However, they should not contain “\begin{document}” or “\end{document}”, nor should any packages be loaded or new commands be defined.
  • The submission tool is based on MathJax. It does not support enumerate environments. Enumerate environments will not be displayed in your web-browser, but of course will be set properly later in the abstract volume. More information is available under http://docs.mathjax.org/en/latest/ .

In order to give as many participants a chance to present their work, each participant may submit at most one talk.
